Legal Notice: This website is an event website of Emerging Technologies Councils (ETC) that features the offerings for Programmes/memberships and allow users to register and pay. The ETC Website is managed and marketed by entity called “Trusted Communications”. Trusted Communications is a marketing company registered in UAE. (“TC,” “we,” “us” or “our“).
Scope of this policy
- visitors and subscribers of the websites of TC;
- natural persons contacting us through the contact or other forms available on the websites;
- subscribers to our newsletter(s);
- users signing in to use our services;
- users signing in to download Publications and Reports;
- users signing in to attend and/or watch webinars;
This policy includes a description of your data protection rights, including a right to object to some of the processing activities we carry out.
We will not share or sell non-aggregated information contained within cookies to any third party.
You also have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If, however, you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of our Sites or have some of our services on the Sites function properly, or at all.
Personal Information You Provide
You can use portions of our Sites without divulging any personal information, including your e-mail address. Our Sites do not collect personal information about individuals except when such individuals specifically provide such information on a voluntary basis (for example, registering to take one of the Memberships, or for one of our programs, requesting a eLearning courses; requesting additional information by contacting us; signing up for newsletter; posting a message to a message board; requesting help; or accessing, adding to, or changing the information on your account information page). When you register for one of to take one of the Memberships or for one of our programs, participate in a program through an affiliate or channel Partners we may collect information regarding you. This personal information may be collected on our Sites, or via electronic mail or via telephone or conventional mail.
The personal data you share on ETC Website while registering for the Membership that we process includes:

We call users to provide information they have requested and to answer questions. Because we only call users at the telephone numbers they leave for us, we do not call people by generating random or sequential telephone numbers. We may use pre-recorded messages in order to ensure that users receive the information they requested. Users do not have to consent to receive calls in order to receive our services.
Once you have registered on ETC Website for one of our Memberships, you will receive welcome message from Pavilion with temporary password. You can log in with temporary password, sets up your password first, log into ETC Pavilion to setup your profile and access the community. The Seamless integration is provided between ETC Website and ETC Pavilion for Paid Member to access the platform by using identifier such as Email. All the paid services will be listed inside the Pavilion and when you intends to purchase any item/activity, you will be linked to ETC website payment gateway for the payment being inside the Pavilion (without leaving the Pavilion) and will be authorized/authenticated upon successful payment.
You may also be assigned a user name and password. The user name will be used to recognize you on the Pavilion Platform. The user name will allow the Pavilion Platform to recognize: your first and last name; registration ID; type of account, such as member, administrator, or the Membership in which a user is enrolled; integration number; and the e-mail address you provided. The user name will also allow you to track your activities as a Member and abide by applicable law in the United Arab Emirates and/or International standards and regulations. Once a member signs into the Pavilion Platform and is authenticated by the system, the member shall have the option to customize and change their Privacy Preferences and decide what personal information to share publicly with other members and what to keep as confidential/ hidden.
We may use the personal information on the Pavilion Platform to provide you with information about new products and services available through ETC website. You can request to opt out of receiving such information by making a request in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can review and edit the personal information that you have provided to TC by either making the changes online or, if that isn’t possible, by making a request in writing to email@example.com.
ETC Pavilion is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Bahrain and does not collects or store personal information or user payment/credit card details. It only allows users to utilize the services of the community/platform.
Because we seek to create a vibrant emerging technology and innovation community, there may be opportunities for you to provide information to be published or displayed on public areas of ETC Website, or transmitted to other users of the Website or third parties (collectively, “Contributions”). Such Contributions are posted on ETC Website or transmitted to us and others at your own risk. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of other users of the ETC Website with whom you may choose to share your Contributions. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that your Contributions will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.
We automatically track and collect certain non-personal information such as Website navigation data, Internet Protocol (“IP”) addresses, timestamps and URLs. We use this information to do internal research on our users’ demographics, interest, and behavior to better understand, protect and serve you and our Members.
If you send us personal correspondence, such as emails or letters, or if other users or third parties send us correspondence about your activities or postings on ETCWebsite, we may store such information on our servers.
Social Wall and Chats
We may offer message boards and chat rooms to you on our Sites. Please be aware that anyone may read your postings on a message board or in a chat room. Furthermore, any information which you submit to be posted to a message board or in a chat room, including your information from your account information page and user name, will be disclosed and available to all users of that message board or chat room, and is therefore no longer private. We cannot guarantee the security of such information that you disclose or communicate online in public areas such as message boards and chat rooms, and you do so at your own risk. We reserve the right to monitor the content of the message boards only and to republish your postings from message boards or chat rooms elsewhere on the Web or otherwise in any format.
The Sites may contain links to other websites, chat rooms, or other resources that we provide for your convenience (“Linked Sites“). These sites are not under the control of TC, and we are not responsible for the content available on any Linked Site. Such links do not imply our endorsement of material on any Linked Site, and TC expressly disclaims all liability with regard to your access to such Linked Sites. Access to any other websites linked to the Sites is at your own risk.
Sharing of personal data
We may share your personal data with our subsidiaries or group companies to process it and to deliver products or services where elements of these are provided by TC group companies other than those with which you have directly contracted.
We may also share your personal data with the below third parties:
- Third Party service providers on a ‘need to know’ basis for the services they provide;
- our professional advisors such as our auditors and external legal and financial advisors;
- our suppliers, business partners and sub-contractors; and/or
- search engine and web analytics.
Personal data may be shared with government authorities and/or law enforcement officials if required for the purposes above, if mandated by law or if needed for the legal protection of our legitimate interests in compliance with applicable laws. Personal data may also be shared with third party service providers who will process it on behalf of TC for the purposes above. Such third parties include, but are not limited to, providers of website hosting, maintenance, call centre operation and identity checking.
Term of personal data retention
We will not keep your personal data for any purpose longer than necessary to fulfill the original or a compatible purpose. In some instances, we are required to retain certain information by law, and for as long as reasonably necessary to meet regulatory or accreditation requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce our terms and conditions. Where this is the case, your personal data will only be processed for the relevant legitimate purpose and not used for marketing.
In the case of any contact you may have with our customer services team, we will retain those details for as long as is necessary to resolve your query.
In some instances, laws may require TC to hold certain information for specific periods other than those listed above.
Storage of Data outside the UAE
ETC Website is hosted on Digital Ocean Servers and the personal data that we collect from you may be transferred to and stored outside the United Arab Emirates (“UAE”) at its data centres that are located in these regions.
It may also be processed by staff operating outside the UAE who work for us or for one of our Third Party Suppliers, in which case the third country’s data protection laws will also be applicable or other applicable safeguards will be in place.

User rights in relation to Personal Data
Once you have provided your Personal Data, you have several rights, which you can in principle exercise free of charge, subject to statutory exceptions. These rights may be limited, for example if fulfilling your request would reveal Personal Data about another person, or if you ask us to delete information which we are required by law to keep or have compelling legitimate interests in keeping.

- Right to withdraw consent
Wherever we rely on your consent, you will be able to withdraw that consent at any time you choose and at your own initiative by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org. The withdrawal of your consent will not affect the lawfulness of the collection and processing of your data based on your consent up until the moment where you withdraw your consent.
- Right to access and rectify your data
You have the right to access, review, and rectify your Personal Data. You may be entitled to ask us for a copy of your information, to review or correct it if you wish to rectify any information like your name, email address, passwords and/or any other preferences, you can easily do so by contacting us at email@example.com.

Under certain circumstances, you may ask us to restrict the processing of your Personal Data. This is for example the case when you contest the accuracy of your Personal Data. In such event, we will restrict the processing until we can verify the accuracy of your data. - Right to object to processing
Under certain circumstances you may object to the processing of your Personal Data, including where your Personal Data is processed for direct marketing purposes. If you no longer want to receive certain communications from us via email, simply click the unsubscription link in any of our emails.
- Right to data portability
Where you have provided your data directly to us and where the processing is carried out by automated means and based on your consent or the performance of a contract between you and us, you have the right to receive the Personal Data processed about you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and request portability of your Personal Data.
Our Commitment to Data Security
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place commercially reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.
We also use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol and Cloudflare on your account information and registration pages to protect sensitive personal information.
Enforcement and Dispute Resolution
As part of TC’s annual certification process, we shall review TC’s compliance with this Policy.
If you have any questions, complaints, or disputes regarding the manner in which TC handles or protects your data, please bring it to the attention of the TC Legal Department at the address above.
This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Federal laws of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Dubai.
The parties agree and acknowledge that all disputes, controversy or claims arising out of or in connection with this Policy shall be finally settled by arbitration in accordance with the provisions set forth under the arbitration rules (the “Rules“) of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (“DIAC“), by one (1) arbitrator appointed in compliance with the Rules, and:
- the seat of the arbitration shall be the Emirate of Dubai;
- the language of the arbitration shall be English;
- the arbitration award shall be final and binding upon the Parties and not subject to any appeal in any court; and
- the arbitration shall deal with the question of the costs of the arbitration and all related matters.
The parties agree and acknowledge that any dispute and arbitral proceedings may take longer than six (6) months and the parties agree and acknowledge that in the event that a dispute and/or arbitral proceedings takes longer than six (6) months, such circumstance shall not form the basis of a procedural challenge to any arbitral award that is subsequently delivered.
Nothing shall prevent either party from applying to a court of competent jurisdiction for urgent interim relief.
